Seek genuine feedback not validation

Knowing what you’re doing right or wrong and identifying areas of improvement is one way to become a better leader, entrepreneur, writer, friend, spouse, or whatever. It’s also how you build a better product or business.

After all, feedback loops drive growth.

A problem with seeking feedback is we often end up looking for affirmation instead. Our bias’ and fear push us to confirm that we’re doing well. We fight criticism.

It’s harmful to believe that you’re right when you’re actually wrong.

So, operate on the assumption that you’re off target and when you hear something you don’t like, don’t argue!

Look for genuine feedback not validation.
